Age--Youth

Touch a truck is a hands-on family program. Come to the parking lot across the street from the library and let your children experience some of the trucks that fascinate them so much.

Children ages 2-8 years old come to the library and give your neglected Teddy Bear (or other stuffed animal) a chance for some fun of his or her own. You will have  activities with your bear on Thursday. Then leave your bear with us overnight for their own exciting time. You will see pictures of your bear’s adventures on the library webpage,  www.carnegie.lib.oh.us.

Pick up your bear: Friday, May 4, from 9 am - 1 pm

FAMILY PROGRAM is for people of all ages consisting of Library open house, photo booth, gingerbread house contest. Watch the library website for more details. www.carnegie.lib.oh.us.

Program time: Saturday December 2 from 11 am-12:30 pm.

GINGERBREAD HOUSE CONSTRUCTION Drop in with your child, aged birth to 13 to decorate a preconstructed gingerbread house. Bring your own decorations or use ours. Houses will be left at the library until after December 2.

All children ages 1 through 18 are eligible to receive free meals during the summer months at Carnegie Public Library.

Lunches are available Monday through Thursday from 12 - 1 pm.

We will be building a variety of things. Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics - let's try them all. The programs will be led by library staff. Students age 7 - Up are welcome. 
You must sign up to attend.

Bring a stuffed animal to the library to try for a prize! Prizes will be awarded for the Hairiest, Coolest Sound, Most Huggable, Most Colorful, Scariest, Best Dressed, Most Loved, Sportiest, Biggest, Smallest animals registered, as well as, the Judges Choice. Prizes are awarded based on the judges' conception of these categories.
Registration will begin at 11 a.m., and will end for the judging to start at Noon. Prizes will be announced at 12:30 p.m. One entry per child. Animals can be picked up immediately after the publicity photos of the winners are taken.

PROGRAMS are hosted every Wed. They will be held at the Salvation Army.  The programs last one hour with guest librarians or special events & door prizes each week. See program listing for details. Pre-schoolers should be accompanied by school aged friends or family. Others may be left. Adults must be accompanied by children.
