SYNC is an online program sponsored by audiobook publishers and AudioFile Magazine to introduce the listening experience to your young adult audience. SYNC offers two free complete audiobook downloads each week, for 14 weeks beginning May 7, for listeners ages 13+. Each week SYNC offers a contemporary young adult audiobook paired thematically with a classic audiobook title. SYNC is dedicated to introducing the listening experience to the young adult audience and demonstrating that required reading can be completed by listening.Check out the schedule and list of books offered here: http://www.audiobooksync.com/
Children ages 2-8 years old come to the library and give your neglected Teddy Bear (or other stuffed animal) a chance for some fun of his or her own. You will have activities with your bear on Thursday. Then leave your bear with us overnight for their own exciting time. You will see pictures of your bear’s adventures on the library webpage, www.carnegie.lib.oh.us.
Program time: Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 6-6:45 pm
Pick up your bear: Friday/Saturday, May 1 and 2 from 9 am - 1 pm
2015 is the Summer of the Superhero. - Summer Reading Club is for all library users. We will have Story Time, Toddler Time, The Science of Superheros, Guest Story Tellers, Book Discussion Group, take home activities, and reading incentives for school-aged guests. Teens and Adults have separate programs and incentives. Information and full event schedules will be available after May 15th. Become a "Guardian of the Library" and earn a membership sign for your yard by reading this summer!
Sign up starts June 1st and continues through July.
A $2.00 donation is requested for each child.
UPDATE: You can check out periodicals on the same digital library website where you currently borrow eBooks, digital audiobooks and streaming video titles. All that is required is a valid library card and a NOOK account (you don't need a NOOK device). Titles can be read via a NOOK tablet device or Free NOOK Reading App available for a multitude of smartphones and tablets.
